The top ten things a person should see when visiting Iceland? Hmmm ... that's tough, because there is so much to choose from, and its such a subjective matter. Here is my list; if you are going to Iceland to fish or attend a music festival, your list would probably be rather different.

1. The Blue Lagoon (Blá Lónið)
2. Lake Myvatn (Mývatn)
3. Þórsmörk
4. Glacial Lagoon (Jókullsárlónið)
5. Thingvellir (Þingvellir)
6. Dowtown Reykjavik (The Pond/Tjórnið, Lækjartorg, the The Pearl/Perlan etc)
7. Kjaranukkur and the highlands
8. Westman Islands
9. Akureyrí / Eyjafjörður
10. The Ring Road

I would put Hrísey on the list, but the most scenic part of this island in the north is privately owned, and is not generally open to the public.
